HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO ME.
Tuesday, November 24, 2009
This month marks 7 years since I've had my retinal detachment. C R A Z Y how time goes by. 7 years, 1 scleral buckle surgery, 3 laser surgeries, yearly checkups and my eyeballs are still intact. God is good and again, I'm thankful for the ability to see and be able to sleep normally. Hahahaha. I looked back at my first blog entry and it was during the start of the whole ordeal. I have no idea how I was able to type it all out since I shouldn't have been on the computer to begin with. In any case, I'm glad I did b/c I wouldn't have remembered it quite like I wrote it.
What are you thankful for this year?

It's been awhile since I've posted to this blog.
Nothing too exciting going on here - about to hi 3 years at Informatica and I'm thinking [for once in my life] change is good. Who knows, I'll see what happens.

Thank you everyone who prayed for our team while in Louisiana. Thanks to your prayers, the weather was decent [still too hot and humid for my liking, but much cooler than previous weeks], minor injuries [scratches, bruises, and bug bites], and we got around town safely. Our team was initially a little disappointed that our homeowner, who's house we were working on was not there, nor were there many people along our street, but we were able to talk to alot of other people on Friday. It was heartbreaking clearing things out of the house. We had to throw away someone's life; we had to set all their personal belongings on the street in piles to be picked up for garbage. I set out to help aid in relief, to help people clean their houses, encourage and share God's love. However, God had other plans for me. Yes, I did help someone get their house in order to start over again, but God made this trip more personal for me. He showed me many of my flaws, what I need to work on, and placed many things on my heart that I need to prayerfully consider for my future. With that being said, I know what needs to be completed [school], but now, I think I have a different vision as to where my life needs to head. This week was a very eyeopening experience. I enjoyed the week away from all my comforts. I enjoyed being challenged physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It stretched me and made me see who I am, where I need to work on, and praise the Lord for what I have. Would I do it again? In a heart beat. Would I do it with the same team? Most definitely. Everyone on the team brought something that I appreciated and admired.
Things I hated:
Humidity
Roaches [holy crap they were HUGE!!!]
Wasps/Hornets
Mosquitos
Mold
Sitting sticky in cramped vans
Bug filled showers
Cheeto puffs [ugggggggghhhhhhhhh]
Bumpy flight landings
Things I liked:
Late nite chats
DVD players in vans
Sonic drinks
Stupid late nite card games
Working hard to help a lady get her life back together
Worshipping w/ 4 other churches in a ghetto area
Serving w/ Drea, Daniel, Ben, Theo, Mini Muffs, Angie, Dori, Markus, Daniel, Pastor Steve, Jody, Bruce, Duane

here's one picture from the weekend. I haven't transfered the pictures to my computer yet, b/c I don't have the cord. Isn't Winnie pretty?
Thank you, LORD. I AM DONEEEEEEEE. After a rough week, little sleep, I'm finished. A little discouraged and unsatisfied with what I turned in, but under the circumstances, I tried. I've accepted the fact that I won't get into the program, and it's ok. Some shoutouts to the people who kept me going this semester. By staying up w/ me during those long nites/early mornings, helping me out, encouraging and praying for me: kenneth, derek, joe, fedor, gil, jenna, cheyanne, mike, neil, julianna, winnie, hil, stace, eugene, ben, amelia, tom, amanda, toby, jeff, val...lots of other people too. Thanks to all of you, really. Now onto those other projects....
Today in the car, I heard Crazy Town's Butterfly and it reminded me of Ria's 21st birthday and I started laughing. That occassion b/c on the way to Tommy Toy's, I was in the car w/ Toby, Chris, and Christine and this song came on. Those Yuen boys rolled down the windows, stuck their arms out and flapped their arms and sang at the top of their lungs while sitting at the toll plaza. Too bad no one was in the car w/ me this afternoon, I was tempted to do the same

music for my soul
Superchic[k]
Alright
There's so much on my mind lately
I can't make out my own thoughts anymore
I don't know where one begins and the other one ends
I wish that I could push a button
And turn it all off just for a little while
Long enough to take a breath and then I'll know
It'll be OK
It'll be alright
There's so much that needs done lately
I can't make out what's important anymore
I don't know where my needs begin and someone else's ends
I don't wanna let anybody down cause
I feel like I'm falling down when I do
But for now would someone else please volunteer to say
It'll be OK
It'll be alright
Life is hard for everyone so let's blow it all off just for a Little while
Let's take a break it'll still be there when we get back
I always try to solve all our problems by
Working real hard going just another mile
But every now and then I think we should let it go and say
It'll be OK
It'll be alright
This is my last verse and it's for everyone feeling not so great Today
We don't know what's coming just around the bend
Always hard to believe in your own life easier to find belief From a friend
I'll hope for you, you for me
And together we can say
It'll be OK
It'll be alright
Newsboys
Lord [I Don't Know]
You are the author of knowledge
You can redeem what's been done
You hold the present and all that's to come
Until your everlasting kingdom
Lord, I don't know where all this is going
Or how it all works out
Lead me to peace that is past understanding
A peace beyond all doubt
You are the God of tomorrow
Turning the darkness to dawn
Lifting the hopeless with hope to go on
You are the rock of all salvation
Lord, I don't know where all this is going
Or how it all works out
Lead me to peace that is past understanding
A peace beyond all doubt
Oh, Lord, you are the author
Redeeming what's been done
You hold us in the present
And all that is to come
Lord, we don't know where all this is going
Or how it all works out
Lead us to peace that is past understanding
A peace beyond all doubt
