Today was "Piss-Mich-Off" Day. I started the day at work w/ a stuipd patient. I know, I know, "Patient Privacy Laws" should be followed. Believe me they are, no names will be mentioned. But good grief, I need to vent about patient stupidity. ::rollseyes:: I really don't understand how some people make it in this world without common sense. Case in point: "I haven't paid my bill or picked up my glasses because my vision has changed drastically and I am NOT paying for anything that has changed." "How do you know your vision changed? Has something medically dramatic happened? Have you seen another doctor since seeing Dr. Mah November of '02 and told you this?" "No. I just know. My vision is telling me. And also, my insurance changed." "Huh...ok..." I just love when patients self-diagnos themselves. I mean, I can understand that you can tell when you're vision is changing, but don't tell me that you don't want the glasses you ordered and won't pay for them when YOU refused to fome in for your annual check-up!! arrrrhhh!! That was my first phone call...and it just went down-hill from there. Stupidity is on the rise, how unfortunate. Hahahhahaa, this one person was just aggrivating me to no end. She was so dog-gone picky [yes, I said "dog-gone"] about a certain color, "I want it a light brown. That's the color I saw at another place....no, that's too light brown. This is all you have? [I pulled 25 frames!!] No...it's more beige...no, I don't like this..." I just said, I can give you your prescription and you can go back to where you liked the frames. Costco, was it? No problem, I'll give you your RX and you can go. Those are just discontinued and you can't get parts or a warranty on them, but please, if you really liked them, go ahead and go." I think I said that 4 times. ::sigh:: Is it time for vacation yet?

Hhmmm...I forgot to talk about my lunch with Christine at Asia de Cuba. I'm surprised we knew where it was. It's located in the Cliff Hotel on Geary. No signs for the hotel or the restaurant. When I walked in, I was reminded of W hotels. Everything is very understated and modern. Nice, but quite dark. They had this HUGE chair just sitting in the middle of the lobby too, size for a giant. Kind of weird. Not too many ppl there for lunch. Both of us acutally did not get the Dine-about-town deal. Christine did and I got the Thai Beef Salad and we just shared everything. Christine had a Bento box, starter: Oxtail fried egg rolls on top of blackbean salsa. 2nd course: pesto prawns atop mango chutney. 3rd course: fried rice w/ plantains. dessert: chocolate and butterscotch buttercream cake. The Thai Beef Salad had spicy beef tartare, watercress, orange slices, avacado, and thin slivers of coconut. Oh, and we also had a side order of coconut sticky rice which was really good. I think that was my favorite part. Hahahahaa. The oxtail was the best out of the bento box. The prawns were too loaded w/ pesto and garlic. That and it just seemed odd to pair pest [Italian] with mango chutney. Not quite the "Asian/Cuban Fusion" I was thinking of. The fried rice w/ plantain was so-so. Yes, I DID try the fried rice. I ate around the plantains. It was just that...so-so. I did like my salad tho. Had a great kick to it. But I think Christine and I liked the coconut rice the best. It wasn't too sweet. Great subtle coconut flavor. Oh, that and our drinks. She had a mango mojito with fresh mango slices and I had a pomegranite margarita, which actually was like a martini. All in all, entrees weren't too disappointing, but i guess I was expecting something a little more exotic. But, come on, can't complain for the price, especially if dinners are really expensive [$51]. Would be nice to go for dinner tho. Will have to wait for a really special occassion then.
