today was my 1st day to painting class cuz i missed it on tues since i was at my dr's appt. it was....interesting. the teacher is new so she's strict. i told her i missed the 1st day cuz of what's been happening and instead of being nice and understanding, she said, "oh, well, you can only have 3 absences in a class so don't miss anymore." eesh! u'd think she would've excused that. and plus, i emailed the dean of counselors, dr. hersh and let her know i wouldn't be there and asked her to let my teacher know. but i guess she didn't. *oy* the one good thing about that class, i know one of the guys so i have a friend! =D lol and it's right across my favorite teacher's office. speaking of her, she's gonna be hosting a summer abroad drawing class in FLORENCE!!! ahhhhhh!!!! i realllllllyyyyyy wanna go! it's june 3rd-june 25th. 3 weeks in florence with a 3 day trip to venice, museum and gallery trips...it's a dream! but it's hecka expensive and i prolly will have lotsa stuff goin on in july that will hafta be prepped in june....*sigh* what to do, what to do. and i'm thinkin about goin on a missions trip again too. decisions, decisions.

why does everything have to deal with so much politics? geez! it's even in sports. i feel sorry for mariucci's family. but val says that tyler seems ok and that he's gonna finish the school year. it would suck if they moved now, cuz he wouldn't be able to finish his senior year off.

tomorrow, no school-i got fridays off! well, off from school. i still gotta work. i'm not goin to work for pat tomorrow tho. not yet, pretty soon. i gotta buy more school supplies. mostly art supplies...that'll cost me a buttload. almost $300!! ahhhhh!!! sometimes being an art major reallllyyyy sux. books don't cost that much, it's the supplies. *sigh*

saturday...joe's crab shack! whooo! yummy yummmy yummmmy!

oh oh! check out the "my cool graphics teacher" link. my teacher made some cool promo stuff for the sacto KINGS. it's really cool!

you know what makes everything feel ok when u're havin a bad day? ice cream...especially "one sweet whirled" by ben & jerry's or "vanilla carmel brownie" by hagan daaz. mmmm....makes everything better. *sigh* either that or just rockin out to some good music. blasting at max of course.

YESSS!!! my dr's appt went well! he said everything's doin pretty well! whooo-hooo!!! i still can't drive tho. not till my eye's not pink anymore. but he said i could start wearing my contacts. yeah! i miss wearing them! i still can't go up to tahoe yet tho...not till feb 1st. but if i go up, i can't go on the hard stuff. i hafta stay on the easy ones...can't do the hard stuff till feb 17th...eesh...but u can bet that when i can, i'm gonna spend a big week[end] up there! parrtttyyyy! =D how sweet is this? christy called me tonite to see how my dr's appt went. she wanted to check on me and make sure everything was ok. then she prayed for me over the phone. i've only had 1 other person do that for me: veda pong. thank you christy! *muah!*

school's not too bad. i hafta drop my fitness class tho, cuz my dr doesn't want me to lift weights, run, or do situps/pushups yet...dang it. but other than that, everything's gonna be cool...hopefully.

did u watch smallville tonite? it was FINALLY a new episode! ssscccarrryyy! it was sad tho...poor whitney. speaking of which, what kind of name is that for a guy?? lol...and poor lex! hahahahaha! he looked so sad and vulnerable. can't wait for next week...i wonder what lex is gonna do...i can't wait for the episode w/ christopher reeves! that'll be cool.

lol, this is the song that jon, hil, christy, james, eugene, toby, and jay sang to me last year for my birthday...it's to the tune of "God must have spent..."

can this be true? tell me, can this be real?
i'm gonna tell ya just what i feel
the burger was great; i liked where i sat
don't even care if i look too fat.
i'm just glad i had a chance,
invited with the uncles and aunts
privilege is mine, not just here to dine...
we're here for miche, ok, it's her birthday!

michelle u're really cool, and we like u a lot
we think u're special, and the dinner hit the spot
when we look at u, we're really surprised
u spent so much, to buy us all burgers and fries!

can it be true? ur family confessed
they say ur room is extremely blessed
too much nsyc and abercrombie clothes.
they make u keep ur room door closed.
mom won't go there-dad's about to blow.
cause they're not sure u still have a floor.
can it be cleaned? i don't want to be mean,
she's an angel, but it'd take a miracle!

ur room is like a river, muddy and deep
we know all ur stuf-u need to keep.
who is this that we are talking about? says
she's overworked and underpaid,
the intern of pastor pat.

in all of creation, both fast and slow
there are few like michelle that i know.
she luvs to put her foot to the floor on the gas
mich makes those cars go super fast.
ur parents like their cars as u can see,
altho they went and let u have the keys.
the sentimental value is strong enuff
to kick u out the door, with all of ur stuff.

u drive much like a river, swift and brash.
tho u may be skillful, pls don't go and crash.
when the time comes for ur license exam,
dmv might say, 'sorry u lost it ma'am'

bet u're excited, now u're of age
u can now excape frm that baby cage
new to this scene, free to fly like an eagle
starting today, michelle u're LEGAL!
u've waited all ur life, now here's the start,
the world is one big canvass for ur art.
how can it be, i just gotta say 'gee'
tell me whassup: she's a grown up!

ur life is like a river, strong and clear
the time is right now to get your ___ in gear
u think time is gonna wait for u...
better wake up, and get a blooming clue.

know this is true...michelle u're my pal.
i can truly say that u're quite a gal
i've watched u grow and now u're so cool,
course i knew u'd be ever since u could drool.
sometimes i know the future aint too clear,
but i can say we're really glad u're here.
u're special that's true, so we're telling u
u'll be going far, just be who u are!

u're life is not a river, but u're peaceful and deep
the Lord is shepherd and ur sould
HE does keep.
some year u will finish going to school
complete it in 4 years-NOT!
a little mroe time for u...

so thank u for inviting-this motley crew
hope u liked ur song, did we embarrass u?
21 is special...hope u're ok,
just trying to wish ya...a happy birthday!
just trying to wish ya..a happy birthday!

hahahhahahahahahahha....and yes, my room is cleaner now...prolly not completely NEAT, but it's better ;)

today, celebrated my day w/ some of my favorite ppl. =D in youth service, they all sang to me and then christy, eugene, james, jay, hil, and toby came over for lunch. we didn't eat lunch till 4...but we snacked all afternoon. mmmm...good food, good food. watched lilo and stich and office space. funnee..."...burn the building down....i took the staples too..." hahahahahha. my family wanted to try the new "sumo" place. it's now called sushiya. wasn't entirely disappointed but not very impressed. heck, i could make better sushi. the rice wasn't made correctly for the sushi. when you picked it up, it just crumbled; totally fell apart. miso soup was wayyyyy too salty. didn't have an entree, seeing as i had just eaten w/ everyone. but *shrug* eh, isn't a place i'd go to every week. once is good.

school starts tomorrow. i just looked over my schedule again. my 1st class is in the building at the bottom of the hill. it starts at 11 and ends at 12:50. my next class starts at 1 [10 min. later!] but is at the TOP of the hill! *oy!* it's gonna be hard! especially now, since i still hafta be careful on stairs and stuff. *sigh*

whew! today was a day of eating! went to practice in the morning, then me and hil went to christine's house and headed to the city. we went to the hotel nikko. there's a japanese restaurant called anzu. the hotel has really pretty deco and the restaurant was pretty spacious. today was the 2nd grand opening of the "new" union square. to kick it off, 161 different restaurants are having a "dine about town" thingy goin on. certain restaurants have a prix fixe menu. the restaurants participating have promo menus: lunch is 19.95 and dinner 29.95. lunch and dinner are 3 course meals. it's a really good deal. you can check out some the places on line. newayz, it wasn't too crowded. hil and i had a prix fixe meal. she had the pear, walnut, salad, seared ahi, and the chocolate torte for dessert. christine had the dungeness crab and shitake mushroom chowder and this prime fillet atop a bed of spinach and horseradish mashed potatoes. i had dungeness crab and shitake mushroom chowder, seared ahi, and raspberry sorbet. everything was delicious. the soup was excellent. the mushrooms were cooked perfectly; not too rubbery like i was thinkin. the ahi was a lil overcooked, but it wasn't dried out and tough. it had great flavor and it was served atop wasabi mashed potatoes and shredded cabbage salad with a lite vinegarette. the raspberry sorbet was very refreshing and was topped with fresh strawberries. hil's chocolate torte was served with vanilla icecream and was verychoclate-y. christine had the creme brulee and it was served a lil chilled with 3 small pieces of fried dough. like a donut. it was very creamy. one of the best i've ever had. after a pleasant lunch, we walked down to union square. went to fao schwartz. so sad that they're goin outta business! it's like a crime that they won't be there anymore! they're like an institution! so everything was pretty much 20-40% off. i got a patrick the pup! =D the mid sized one. so cute! they ran out of bags so i had to carry him around like i was hugging him. all the kids would walk by on the streets and go, "aww! look at the doggie! mommy, i want one!" i got a few dirty looks for parents...lol. but mostly lots of "awws" and smiles. =D was gonna go to sanrio but didn't realize that they shut down! aww! went to crate and barrel to look around and then headed back to christine's. mom and dad picked me up a lil while later and we headed to lafayette. went to broadway plaza for a bit and saw some old friends. it was great to catch up with them!

around 6:30, headed back to the city with the family and auntie meadine, tamaron, and courtney. we had reservations at crustaceans. it was pretty crowded. kinda noisy, great food, and service. they're known for their crab and garlic noodles. they were also one of hte restaurants participating in the "dine about town." so most everyone had the prix fixe meal. i had the royal tiger prawns with garlic noodles, mom had the roasted crab and everyone else had the prix fixe meal: prawns and garlic noodles. for appetizers, we had shrimp and green mango rolls [think vietnamese spring rolls] with peanut dipping sauce, grilled chicken skewers, shrimp toast and this great papaya calamari salad. at first, i thot it sounded a bit...weird, but it was great. the papaya is julianned very finely with some jicama, lite tangy vinegarette and small calamari. it was very refreshing. everything was delicious. the main courses were soooo good! it was above and beyond what i expected. the crab was so flavorful. it's amazing, it's run by a huge vietnames family, the an family. only THEY know the secret receipe. there's a "secret" kitchen where only they're allowed in and they cook the crab. no other workers are allowed in there; so the receipe stays a secret. the garlic noodles were, oooo, so yummy! it wasn't gritty with bits of garlic everywhere. it was infused, loaded with flavor. highly recommended! the only real drawback to the restaurant was the noise level. it was a bit noisy, but other than that, i highly recommend the restaurant!

*sob* r.i.p maurice gibb. a legend has passed on =(

*yawn* k, off to bed, long day tomorrow. GO NINERS! =D
