Story time:
Once upon a time, 4 ladies decided to go on a trip to a land far far away. They packed their bags, loaded up their Chevy Tahoe and hit the road w/ much food and drink to last them a very long time. As they ascended the steep slopes of the Grapevine, they sang along to the tunes streaming from the iPod. They enjoyed the views, the chatting, the books, the sleeping when suddenly, all power in the Tahoe was lost. They slowly, cautiously made their way to the shoulder and came to stop before a call box. Smoke seemed to pour from beneath the hood. They scampered out of the Tahoe to pop the hood and call the CHP. CHP came rather quickly but instead of calming the ladies, warned them of rattle snakes and drove off. But soon, the tow truck came! The driver quickly loaded the Tahoe onto the back and the 4 ladies climbed into the cab of the truck. To their surprise, it was unbelievably clean and fresh smelling. 3 girls sat in the front and the last squished in the back. All 4 of them were squawking on their cell phones frantically calling friends and acquaintances to see who could lend a helping hand. After 45 minutes, the Tahoe came to rest at a cousin's friend's garage [get that?]. The prognosis of the Tahoe: blown head gasket, no compression, must stay in a small town till further notice. However, the ladies were determined to make it to Disneyland. A seminary student and his lovely wife came to the rescue of the stranded 4 ladies. They made it in time to see the evening fireworks. The following morning, 2 woke up early, headed to the airport, rented another car and they all finally made their way to Disneyland.

I must say, this weekend started w/ an adventure before we even hit Adventure Land. It was great for us to see some of our friends, but would've preferred to see them under different circumstances. Oh well. If you want to see some pictures, Val has some posted.

Nice get-away for the weekend. I miss Disneyland already.
